I have a bet with somebody on this. I say the Dead last played Viola Lee Blues at Harpur College 5-2-1970, And a friend of mine says no. Will anybody please settle this one way or another?

The Viola Lee from this show was one of the few good moments from the two nights. Local college kids insisted on doing the sound--which royally pissed off the band as they couldn't hear the monitors. This is the only time I'd ever seen the band be genuinely angry--and I do mean pissed. Even Pig threatens to "rip off your head and shit in it." But the Viola Lee--wonderful.
